| Minutes of AGM 2007 SKELMERSDALE HORTICULTURAL SOCIETY
Minutes of the AGM held on Tuesday 16th January 2007 at 7p.m.at Woodlands Primary School
Members present: George Holmes, Gerry Mulville, Don Wrudd, Mike & Colette Cowgill, Phil Millward, Steven Martin, Eddie & Lesley Smith, Linda Miller, Chris Whalley, Brian Johnston, Elizabeth & Fred Jennings, Eddie Cowley, John Barlow, Billy Cummings, Cath & Gerry Ball, Antonio Perestrelo, Jackie Pratt, Margaret Blake
1) The Minutes were agreed as a correct record 2) Reports: The Chairperson commented on the social event held at Quarry Bank, the BBC item on allotments and the path put down by WLDC The Secretary proposed the calendar of events with a barbecue in August to “Show your wares”. Inspections would take place from April onwards of the plots. The Plots Secretary advised that we now have a waiting list of 12 people He appealed to members to let the Committee know if they are struggling to work their plot He noted that we are listed on the WLDC web site He reported that the person who broke in had been prosecuted He agreed to check out possible manure deliveries He agreed also to sort out a calendar for planting 3) Colette presented the financial report which was accepted. Currently we have £1129.96 in the bank 4) The budget was discussed and agreed. It was agreed that the fee for a full plot be £22 and the membership fee be £3 5) Election of Officers: a) Chairperson: Don Wrudd Proposed by Colette Seconded by Lesley b) Secretary: Margaret Blake Proposed by Elizabeth Seconded by Don c) Treasurer: Colette Cowgill Proposed by Lesley Seconded by Gerry M d) Plots Sec: Steve Martin Proposed by Margaret Seconded by Eddie S e) Ordinary Member: Chris Whalley Proposed by Margaret Seconded by Colette f) Ordinary Member: Linda Miller Proposed by Don Seconded by Chris All the above were elected 6) Changes to the Tenancy Agreement It was agreed that new members have a 3 month probationary period to show their commitment. It was agreed that greenhouses should have laminated glass or glass covered in shrink wrap 7) Any Other Business It was agreed that we explore the idea of buying in bulk. A nursery in Scarisbrick would be approached Don will continue his offer to rotivate plots. Members to pay £5 to Society funds for this.
